California Wildfire victims
The recent wildfires in California are now the deadliest in the state’s history. Thousands of people have been displaced and are in need of a place to live, including many in the REALTOR® family. Several members have written us telling us how they barely escaped with their lives.
Two major fires are still burning across the state including the Camp Fire north of Sacramento. This one fire has taken at least 77 lives!
The Woolsey Fire, is northwest of Los Angeles.
The list of people unaccounted for has almost 1,300 names on it. Officials hope they find those people at shelters, or that missing people were simply without phone service and will eventually call in, or that they will figure out duplicate names when reconciling the list.
Also there are thousands of people who did make it out alive but have nowhere to go, except for the parking lot of a Walmart and other places that are hosting thousands in their vehicles and tents.
To make your donation go further, C.A.R. will match donations up to $250,000.
Let’s help out our REALTOR® family.
