The average rate 30 year fixed-rate home mortgage reached its lowest level in two years this week.

30 year mortgage rates averaged 6.08% last week, down from 6.09% a week earlier, according to Freddie Mac data.

The average 15-year home mortgage rates rose one basis point to 5.16%.

The Federal Reserve cutting interest rates can significantly help the housing market in several ways:  

  1. Lower Mortgage Rates: When the Fed cuts rates, it typically leads to lower interest rates on mortgages. This means that potential homebuyers can borrow more money at a lower cost, making homes more affordable.
