Prop 19 Tax Increase for your children

Who would have ever suspected that the California Association of Realtors would really back a proposal that’s a classic wolf in sheep’s clothing on California voters?

As a past long-term member of the California Association of realtors I must say that at first glance I thought this proposition was just a to allow seniors to move their current tax base any place in California.Prop 19 Tax Increase

Now, perhaps that’s the way it originally started. But now, it’s also to provide funding for the wildfires in the State and more importantly, by some estimates, raise over $1 billion a year in new real estate tax, by eliminating some of the original proposition 13 protections on inherited residential properties in California.

To say it’s disappointing to see the California Association of Realtors using members dues to back this thinly disguised residential property Prop 13 attack, is a huge understatement.

Sadly, it would seem from this action and some other recent statements from the leadership of the California Association of Realtors, that this organization has definitely taken a left leaning political stance.

I’m certain there is some out there who would say well this is just a minor change in the inheritance of residential properties to the original proposition 13. But I’m certain that if this proposition goes through it would just be in the the first of many to slowly eat away at the original intent of proposition 13.

My advice, is don’t be a sheeple,

stand firm on protecting the original provisions of proposition 13 and vote no in November on proposition 19!
