California SB91 Eviction Extension

Eviction Extension to June 30 – Mom & Pop LOSE 20% of Rent

Although this is pretty much an attorney commercial, I published it because it does provide some very useful information about the new California eviction moratorium extension. There is no doubt that this is a complicated issue and each individual case can be slightly unique. It’s unfortunate but if you are a landlord and have a tenant who is not paying rent because of the the Covid 19 virus, you should definitely seek legal advice about the ramifications of the latest California moratorium on evictions.

Many landlords caught up in this terrible situation, ask their local Realtor for advice. The fact is that realtors cannot give advice on legal matters such as this moratorium. We are trained to give advice and consultation just about real estate matters and when matters arise concerning real estate taxation, real estate estate planning, or real estate legal issues, the best advice your realtor can give you is to talk to a specialist to ensure that you are receiving the correct information before taking any action which could end up being detrimental to your interests.

Naturally, with that said I’m just providing a platform for publication and the advice and information in this video is solely that of the attorney presenting it.

Now, as far as opinion goes, it’s my personal opinion that this moratorium and its extensions are basically a taking of private property by the State without any compensation. Also, personally, I’m very skeptical that this latest extension will really end as scheduled, on June 30, 2021. In addition, as mentioned in the video, there are a number of local moratoriums on evictions throughout the State of California that are much more restrictive and impose other requirements on both the landlord and tenant that are different than the blanket California eviction ban. This is just another important reason for landlords in California need to get a legal consultation about their particular situation, to ensure that they are complying with both the State and local eviction requirements.

Sad to see California slowly turn socialists and eventually TOTALLY COMMUNISTIC, makes my heart break. I can’t believe the state continues to vote left and allow these State politicians to destroy such beautiful places with more homeless and more drug addicts than you could ever imagine. Very sad!!!
