Home Sales – May 2012
CoreLogic of Santa Ana California, a New York Stock Exchange company that provides nformation and business services, released its May home price index. This report showed that nationwide May 2012 sales increased by 2% over the same period a year ago. The May 2012 sales marked the third consecutive increase in home sales nationwide on both the year-over-year and a month over month basis.
The May 2012 report also showed the five top states for home appreciation, where distress sales were included in the totals were: Arizona up 12%, Idaho up 9.2%, South Dakota up 8.7%, Montana, up 8.2% and lastly Michigan up 7.9%.
Home Sales – California
Here in California, this report showed that when distress sales were included, the May 2012 increase was 1.8% over May 2011. When distress sales were excluded from this figure the May 2012 increase was 4% in California over may 2011!
