San Diego real estate:
DataQuick Information Systems reported 1-17-11 that the San Diego December median price stood at $333,000, compared with $330,000 a year earlier.
Even though San Diego home sales were up 24.4 percent from November, December’s 3,191 transactions still ranked as the second lowest December since DataQuick began keeping records in 1988.
The percentage of homes that sold in December after going through foreclosure in the previous 12 months was 31.3 percent, up from 29.7 percent in November — the highest since April’s 32.2 percent. Five years ago, the figure was below 1 percent.
For some good news: The new-home market was up in December and the median price stood at $500,000; the second month in a row it was at or above the half-million mark.
